周宁博士于1999年创办中国第一所摄影大学--南方摄影学院，为中国摄影教育做出突出贡献，其多次获邀参加在中、美、韩和希腊等国家举办的国际影展，希腊总理乔治﹒帕潘德里欧(George Papandreou)亲自出席由希腊总理基金会为周宁先生举办的《水韵》摄影展。

Dr. Zhou Ning founded China's first photography university - South Institute of Photography - in 1999, has made great contribution to China’s photography education, and has been invited several times to take part in international photographic exhibitions in China, the United States, Republic of Korea, Greece and some other countries. George Papandreou, the then Prime Minister of Greece, attended in person Dr. Zhou Ning’s photographic exhibition named “Beauty of Water” held by the Greece Prime Minister’s Foundation.

周宁的《水韵》主题作品引起国际艺术界的特别关注，希腊著名艺术评论家Penelope Petsini撰文称“周宁的视觉语言是建构在非常具有吸引力的水形象上的，其创作保持了同西方学术视觉系统的对话，同时还有中国画法的踪迹。他描绘的主题暗示了相互作用自然力的流动。在西方，我们可以理解为远东的一种中心哲学的方式：象征和精神转换成一种想象中的风景——精神和谐培育出山、云、水波以及任何事物流动成一体的韵律，使它渗透到整个宇宙”。

Dr. Zhou Ning’s photographic works under the theme of “Beauty of Water” have attracted special attention of the international art community. Penelope Petsini, a famous Greek arts critic, comments that “Mr. Zhou Ning’s visual language is based on very attracting water images, and his works keep in conversation with the western scholastic visual system while maintaining traces of the Chinese painting skills. The theme depicted by him implies the flow of the natural force of interaction. In the West, we can understand it as a way of a kind of central philosophies in the far east: Symbols and spirits change into imaginary sceneries --- spiritual harmony produces mountains, clouds and water waves, and everything moves into an integrated rhythm, making itself infiltrating into the whole universe.”

周宁先生的摄影作品多次参加由美国国际摄影艺术经销商协会举办的纽约摄影博览会（AIPAD）、国际摄影组织主办的美国洛杉矶国际摄影艺术博览会（Photo LA）等聚集当今国际一线摄影艺术家的盛会，其作品广受欧美政商名流和收藏家的青睐。周宁先生在美国加州 拉古娜海滩（Laguna Beach,California）等多个城市拥有其全球连锁画廊—周宁画廊（NING ZHOU GALLERY）。

Mr. Zhou Ning’s photographic works have been put on show in various most famous exhibitions that attract current well-known forefront photographers worldwide, such as New York Photography Fair (AIPAD) organized by American Association of International Photographic Art Dealers and Los Angeles International Photography Art Fair (Photo LA) organized by the International Photography Organization, and they are very popular among celebrities in the political and business societies and collectors in Europe and the United States.  Mr. Zhou Ning owns a global chain photographic gallery - Zhou Ning Gallery –with chain galleries in several cities in the United States, such as Laguna Beach, California.
